The ‘Werkwijzer Poortwachter’ is a guide for employers, occupational health physicians and others involved to help them with the reintegration of employees who return from long-term sick leave. The document contains up-to-date information and guidelines on the reintegration of ill or work-disabled employees. Moreover, the guide also provides information on how insurance doctors and labor experts working for the UWV (National Institution for Employees’ Insurance and Regulations) assess the effort an organization has put into reintegration. The new version of the ‘Werkwijzer Poortwachter’ was published on June 1, 2021 and contains various adjustments and improvements as to earlier versions. For example, the new guide has been adjusted to changes in the ‘Wet Arbeidsmarkt in Balans’ (Labor Market in Balance Act), now containing up-to-date information on the requirements for payroll employers in reintegration.
