    Financial scheme for preventative testing

Through a temporary financial scheme, outgoing minister De Jonge of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport wants to provide financial support to employers who want their employees preventatively tested for a coronavirus infection. Such preventative testing is for employees who show no symptoms and, to anyone’s knowledge, have not been in contact with an infected individual. The scheme is only meant for organizations in which working from home is not possible and social distancing is difficult. The scheme will be in effect until May 31, 2021, with the possibility for an extension of one month. You cannot apply for the scheme yourself. Instead, such applications are filed by the ‘arbodienst’ (Health and Safety Service) or physicians registered in the ‘BIG-register’ (Healthcare Professionals Act register). They will also be the ones carrying out the tests, at your request. Per test, they will receive a € 20 (exclusive of VAT) reimbursement. The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport only reimburses Rapid Antigen Tests and Self-Sampling Tests. The availability of self-tests should eventually make the temporary financial support superfluous.
